BC’s physicians are playing a leading role to support the profession and patients in dealing with the challenges around opioid prescribing and pain management. Divisions of Family Practice, funded by Doctors of BC and the provincial government, are hosting local learning events and creating and compiling resources on opioid prescribing and alternative pain management models.
Some of these are clinical resources intended for a physician audience (i.e., to support decision-making in the prescribing process) and some are resources and community links that physicians can provide to patients on alternative pain management strategies.
We have also included links to some of the key provincial and Health Authority resources. To learn more, click here.
